How can I protect my course and control access to it?
In the settings, you can create a password for enrolling in the course. Once this is activated, new users will only be able to access the AI tutor and quizzes for the course with a valid password.
What copyright regulations do I need to consider when uploading course materials to the system?
When uploading materials to our system, it’s essential to respect copyright law. As a general rule, any materials you didn’t create yourself are protected by copyright. This means:
- Your own materials:
- You can upload your own lecture slides and scripts without concern, as long as they don’t contain third-party copyrighted content.
- Third-party materials:
- Uploading entire textbooks, articles, or other copyrighted works is generally not permitted.
- Instead, use short quotes or excerpts in line with quotation rights.
- Provide links to the original sources if they’re available online.
- Use open educational resources (OER) with appropriate Creative Commons licenses, since these are cleared for free use.
- For images and graphics from the internet, pay attention to usage rights and always cite the source and creator.
- Important:
- You are responsible for ensuring copyright compliance.
- If you’re unsure, obtain permission from the copyright holder or refrain from uploading.
- Also keep data protection aspects in mind, especially when dealing with personal data.
- Remember that the use of materials for teaching and instruction has its limits under copyright law.
We recommend using only materials for which you clearly hold the usage rights, or relying on OER. For specific questions, please contact our support team or consult a copyright lawyer.
How can I share OneTutor with my course participants?
Your students should access OneTutor through your university’s specific address (e.g., lmu.onetutor.ai for LMU). You can find your university’s address in this overview. Additionally, we provide PDFs that you can include in your presentations.
You can:
- Share the link directly to your course (see screenshot)
- Include our slides in your presentation (list of PDFs)
